The European pots were finalized today after the final round of qualifying for Euro2008 was played. The seedings were based on the new November 2007 FIFA rankings. England's final day loss to Croatia in UEFA Euro2008 qualifying relegates them to Pot B while Greece moves up to Pot A.
There will be eight groups of six teams and one group of five teams. This is because there will be one less team in Pot F than in the other pots.

The draw will be performed on Sunday. The nine group winners advance to South Africa and the best eight second-place teams will advance to the UEFA playoff round. Four more teams will then advance to South Africa. Qualifying will not begin until after Euro2008 is completed.
