Egypt, Algeria stroll

Egypt had the opportunity to take a nice little vacation to sunny Djibouti; the only catch was that they had some sporting business to attend to first. After a slow first forty minutes, the Egyptians found the back of the net and had a 1-0 lead at the half. The next fifteen minutes showcased furious Egyptian soccer and after three quick goals the Egyptians turned off the engines to coast to a 4-0 win.

Algeria were looking to get back on track after a close loss at Sénégal. The home stadium gave them plenty of confidence against Liberia, and it showed. A two-goal halftime lead turned into a 3-0 score with an early penalty conversion. The three points are the first that Algeria have taken in qualifying.

Goal scorers:
Egypt: Zaki 40; Abd Rabo 47 PK; Hassan 54; Abdelmalk 65

Algeria: Djebbour 14; Ziani 18, 46 PK
